What’s in a name? For us, it’s quite a bit.

This isn’t our first name… but it’s definitely our favorite. Let’s break it down:

“welcome” - this is the more obvious part. At our core, our mission is to empower everyone to have a warm welcome. Often, this doesn’t mean making your new co-workers friendlier or more approachable. It means making it more obvious that these folks already are friendly and approachable, and are glad you’re here. Especially in a remote-first world, sometimes it can be hard to feel like you’re part of a new crew… not just on the outside looking in.

“welcome” isn’t just something you deserve on your first day, though. You’ve been hired for a reason, and that means sticking around. But why would you stick around if you don’t feel that welcome every single day? Once someone is fully onboarded, it’s not the end of anything. It’s more like the first day of the rest of your job. And every day from 1 to 900 and beyond brings new challenges, new questions, new nuggets of knowledge that welcomary is meant to showcase for you in an easy-to-use interface.

All right… so what about “ary?”

Dictionary. Library. Glossary. Documentary. Statuary. All are sources of knowledge, information and inspiration. (There are hundreds of other words that end in -ary," but mentioning them is unnecessary and we can treat them as imaginary for the purpose of this argument.)

So what is welcomary? It’s a source of knowledge, information and inspiration that aims to welcome you to your work each and every day you use the platform.
